Hi everyone! I'm posting several of the photos I took of our trip. Sorry, Amy....I don't know how I missed not taking more of you and your family. You'll have to download what you shot with your new camera. The first photos were of a living ghost town off 395. There were just a couple of people there when Mike and I went through, but it was really interesting.
These other views were taken on side trips off 395 and the reason I wanted to enter the valley from this direction. We passed through Lone Pine, the Alabama Hills where dozens of western movies were shot. Yes, that's Mike at the top of the rocks. IDIOT! Then we took the road up toward Mt. McKinley and found this waterfall. We got to Mono Lake early in the morning after leaving Bishop and the other shots are of views off 395.
Here we are in the meadow looking up for Scott on El Capitan! I called Elaine this morning (Saturday) she's back in the meadow watching Scott climb up again. He's half-way up and expects to spend a second night on the ledge before finishing Sunday. The photos of Elaine and the old couple up at Glacier Point....The old woman put a curse on Elaine for us taking their parking place. Elaine put a curse back on her.
You kids who weren't able to go to Glacier Point missed a spectacular view. Next time you shouldn't miss it.
It was a great trip! We need to do something like this every year!!!
Like I said, I didn't get shots of everyone. Amy and Leah, we need to see your pics too!
